RainWise.net is Moving to Ambient Weather Network

RainWise.net is Moving to Ambient Weather Network

We are committed to enhancing your online experience with our weather monitoring and station data management. That is why we are excited to announce that we are transitioning from RainWise.net to the Ambient Weather Network (AWN). This move is aimed at providing you with a more engaging and feature-rich platform to view and manage your weather station data. You can check out the new online dashboard at AmbientWeather.net.

What's New?

AWN brings a host of new features designed to improve your interaction with weather data:

  • Multi-Station Map: Now, you can view data from multiple stations on a single screen.
  • Color-Coded Map Icons: This feature allows for improved visual clarity with color-coded displays.
  • Frequent Data Updates: Enjoy the most current weather information with updates every 5 minutes and the option to download one-minute data.
  • Extended Weather Forecasting: Gain access to detailed weather forecasts to better plan your days.
  • Enhanced Alerts: Stay informed with notifications through the app and via email alerts.
  • Customizable Graphs: Personalize your data display with customizable graphs (coming soon).

Important Updates & Changes

Live & Historical Data Access on AWN

Once you log onto AWN with your previous RainWise email and new password, you will see your station already affiliated to your account. Once the RainWise-AWN transition is complete you will see your current and historical data (up to one year).

Login Information

Your email login credentials will remain the same, but we are requiring all users from this transition to utilize the "forgot password" function on their first login attempt to enhance your account security.

Alert Notification Setup

It is important to note that your alert settings from RainWise.net will not carry over. You will need to configure your alerts on AWN.

Alert Notification Distribution List Changes

Under RainWise.net, it was possible to manage alert distribution lists from a main account. AWN changes this approach by requiring each user to create their own account to set up alerts for their chosen public stations. There is no limit to the number of users who can set up alerts. If you choose to utilize text alerts, they will be limited to a total of 10 per day. This limitation is per account, not per station, potentially increasing the total number of alerts you receive for the same station. **

*Special Offer: This is a feature of AWN's paid subscription, but all RainWise customers will receive this service free of charge for a limited time.

Transition Timeline

This update will fully take effect in August 2024, but we encourage you to sign up for AWN now to start enjoying these new features. We are excited to help you make the most of these enhancements and ensure a smooth transition.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to improve your weather data management experience!
