Bangor area television and press weather prognosticators are now free to take their weekends off because the Maine Air Museum is taking over for them on Saturdays and Sundays . The museum now has its own weather station and now we know which way the wind is blowing and how fast it is! This all came about when Trenton, Maine, based RainWise, Inc. donated a professional weather station to the Maine Air Museum. No more wind socks for them! Pictured are several Maine Air Museum volunteers who, thanks to RainWise, are demonstrating their meteorological prowess by pointing which way the wind is from.
The public is welcomed to visit the museum Saturdays from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and on Sundays from noon to 4:00 pm. and see for themselves which way the wind is blowing. The museum is located on Maine Avenue just north of where Hammond Street stops just short of the runway at Bangor International Airport. Come and view over 50 Maine aviation related exhibits designed to educate and entertain people of all ages. Guess how fast the wind is blowing and see how accurate you are on the RainWise weather station. Admission is $3 per adult, Children $1 and the most a family will pay is $6. Active duty military and their families are admitted free of charge. We close for the season the end of September so make your plans to visit this fascinating museum now. http://www.maineairmuseum.com
